The spoken language is English, and Netflix offers audio dubbing and subtitles in several languages. These include German, Spanish, French and Italian. There may be more options available in your area.
It's rated TV-MA. Technically, that means some subject matter may not be suitable for those under 17 years-old.
…in short
Assuming you've already heard of the series, and watched the first season, I will just get right to it. Season 1 spoilers ahead.
…so James alive, then?
The first season ended with James getting shot. The comic book (upon which the series is based) ended the same way. There is no second "TEOTFW" comic. And the plot of season 2 was a closely guarded secret.
Nonetheless, you probably already knew the answer to that 'question.' It's really just rhetorical, then.
…better than season 1
It's possible, yes. Actually, I think season 2 of "The End of the F***ing World" is one of the best binges I've had this year. It's damn near close to perfection. The only regret this season is the length. At about 3 hours proper; I didn't want it to end.
…so many emotions
Writer Charlie Covell paints a tragic but beautiful and darkly funny portrait of trauma and love. Real, raw emotion. The pain of loss is profound. The distress of past memories is disturbing. The humour is 🖤. The love shared between Alyssa and James is nothing less than euphoric.
…new characters
A new batch of characters add even more personality to cast that's already very engaging. Amongst other new additions, there is the cunning Bonnie (Naomi Ackie). She wants reparation for her loss. And there will be blood. The lonely motel owner (played by comedian Tim Key). Creepy, odd, but just wants to be noticed. And, my personal favourite new cast member: Kevan (Paterson Joseph). The feminist pharmacist, as I like to call him.
Checking through the biographies of the new cast members reveal that many are professional comedians. Their talent for spot-on timing (a valuable asset in comedy) is apparent throughout. I have to give credit to the casting department for this one. #Bravo
…a lot can happen in 178 minutes
There are so many scenes and locations. The new season of "The End of the F***ing World" moves along quickly. The pacing and editing means you'll not want to look away from the screen for FOMO. You may end up missing something if you do, so try not to avert your eyes.
…in closing
I will say this: make time for "TEOTFW". Watch it more than once. And send send a note to @Netflix demanding a third season.
You're welcome.
