Stageplays
8FLiX Archive: ‘Stageplays’
Take a look through our small cache of scripts written for live theatre.
A stageplay is a written script created specifically for live theatrical performances. It includes dialogue, character actions, stage directions, and descriptions of the settings or scenes, all designed to be performed on a stage in front of an audience. Stageplays are the foundation of traditional theater and can be performed in various formats, such as dramas, comedies, musicals, or one-act plays.
Unlike screenplays or teleplays, which are written for film and television, stageplays rely heavily on dialogue and physical acting to convey the story. Stage directions in a stageplay guide the actors, director, and crew on how the characters should move, interact, and behave on stage, as well as how to use props, lighting, and sound to create the desired atmosphere.
