Looking for some weekend reads? I think we can help you with that. These scripts are considered as some of the best "2024: Top Unproduced Screenplays" of the year, according to hundreds of industry professionals who've read and rated them.
For Your Consideration, we have the first 15 scripts listed and indexed alphabetically for quick access. Including Anna Klassen's "The 13th Hour," Matt Ackels's "Bust," and everything in between.
If you're a young writer looking for study guides, you've found the right place. Have a look at how other writers are telling a story.
Unsure about exactly what makes these scripts so popular?
So, you want to be a screenwriter? That’s great—but let’s be real for a second. The odds of making a full-time career out of it? Not exactly in your favor. Writing is one thing. Being a writer? That’s a whole different game.
Screenwriting, like any other art form, is subjective. Which means paying for someone’s opinion on your script can be a gamble. One script reader might tear your work apart, while another might think it’s brilliant. You’ll get conflicting feedback, and not all of it will have anything to do with actual screenwriting fundamentals.
That’s the tricky part about looking for advice in a subjective field. Not all feedback is created equal. The key? Keep writing. Keep revising. At the end of the day, the only person who truly needs to believe in your work is you. If you’ve got what it takes to be a great writer, everything else will eventually fall into place.
And here’s something crucial: read scripts—a lot of them. Read unproduced scripts, award-winning scripts, and everything in between. Study what’s on the page, but more importantly, learn to see what’s not written. Pay attention to subtext, structure, and pacing.
Most importantly, don’t be afraid to make mistakes—but also know when to step back and move on.
Anyone can write. Not everyone can be a writer. The difference? Persistence.
A word about voting... and other important stuff about the "best of" 2024 Unproduced Scripts.
Some of the scripts listed here may have since been optioned and produced. However, at the time of "voting" they were not.
Also, like all of the screenplays on this site, copyrights remain with the writer(s). 8FLiX does not claim ownership of any screenplay, nor were we involved in voting for, or choosing what makes them the "best of" a particular year.
If you're the writer and wish to update the version, change your contact information, or to remove your screenplay from the database, send me an email.
