I couldn’t afford film school. In eighth grade my English teacher called me a storyteller, and that word stuck.
When I was ten, I saw E.T. in a packed cinema and decided I wanted to make that kind of magic. Did I have a camera? No. Mentors? Nope. A clue? Zero. My small-town library didn’t have screenplay books, so on weekends I’d bus into the city and scour movie "making-of" books at the mall. A few had tiny script excerpts. That’s how I learned basic screenplay formatting.
8FLiX exists so the next kid doesn’t have to do any of that. We provide educational access to screenplay and study tools -- properly credited, responsibly shared, and built for students, educators, and working-class dreamers who just need a door they can open.
