So, let's get started.

Why is Stranger Things 4 in two parts?

Stranger Things 4 is nine-episodes spread out over two parts. Volume 1 premieres on May 27. Volume 2 premieres exactly 5-weeks later on July 1. Netflix hasn't said why they did that, and don't expect them to. So, people are making up their own reasons.

I've found two plausible explanations.

1) To stop hit-and-run subs (subscribe, binge, cancel subscription); especially those who access Netflix courtesy of a free 30-day trial.

Reasoning: It's not uncommon for people to subscribe to Netflix for one-month just to binge a series. One needs only a credit card (even prepaid/gift cards) and an email address. Spreading the season over two months means one would have no choice but to pay for a second month.

2) To meet the Emmy Award voting deadline.

Reasoning: Voting for this year's Emmy Awards ends May 31. Volume 1 of Stranger Things 4 will be fresh in the voters' minds with the first 4 or 5 episodes dropping on May 27.

We were the first, and still remain, the only scripts website to have the complete season 3 "scripts-proper" (and not just the transcripts) for Stranger Things. Season 4 will be no different. But it's going to take time.

Right now, we have two real episode scripts that will be posted in July. They are: Chapter One and Chapter Four.

However, only the "Chapter Four: Dear Billy" script (again, the real 'teleplay') will be offered as a "thank you" gift to our generous patrons who help keep 8FLiX free for everyone.
